Memecoins for Charity
“I appreciate all the memecoins that donate portions of their supply directly to charity” – Vitalik Buterin
LottoPGF lotteries can be deployed using any ERC-20 token. So why don’t we give all memecoins a fun way to engage degens, while doing something more regen. By deploying a lottery, communities can offer their members a chance to win A LOT of memecoins by purchasing tickets that fund charities or public goods!
We have already seen some examples of this, and more are coming soon!
-
$DEGEN 🎩
The PowerBALD lottery had a prize in $DEGEN and leveraged the hype of the token launch on Farcaster to get donations (also in $DEGEN) to co-sponsor a Giveth QF round.

Popup City & Network State Tooling
Multiple projects such as Zuzalu.city, Lemonade.social and Social Layer are integrating LottoPGF to give popup cities and networks states a tool to raise funds while engaging their commmunities.
Zuzalu.city has integrated LottoPGF as a ticketing app inside their platform to raise funds for Popup cities and other Zuzalu related activities. This effort is being led by the Ethereum Community Fund.
Other projects such as Akiya Collective's ZuJapan are using LottoPGF and related technologies to raise funds and engage their communities.

Making National Lotteries more efficient and transparent
National Lotteries worldwide generate around $400 Billion revenue per year. They claim a lot of that money goes to fund public goods, however this, alongside the fairness of the lotteries, is very costly to verify and audit. Putting their lottery systems on the blockchain thus makes it a lot more cost efficient and unlocks a more “democratic” process for the public goods being funded.
Funding for DeSci
Medical and Scientific Research traditionally used lotteries to get funding. Now with decentralised lotteries we can fund Descentralised Science!
Multiple groups such as LunCo, DeepVentureDAO, BeakerDAO, Asterisk DAO, AuraSci & MesoReefDAO are already exploring using LottoPGF to fund their projects.
Case Studies
PowerBALD: Test lottery with proven impact
PowerBALD was a free-to-play lottery that could be accessed through a frame on Farcaster. Frogworks developed it with the goal of testing their randomness tech and early versions of the LottoPGF contracts, as well as growing the LottoPGF Farcaster account.
PowerBALD had 40k+ tickets claimed by ~16k unique players. The permissionless randomness technology was proven to be easy to implement on any EVM chain (deployed on Degen Chain on day 1) and the LottoPGF Farcaster accounts grew to ~25k followers on @LottoPGF and ~10k on /lotto.
To prove the PGF side, PowerBALD raised 1500 USD through optional ticket purchases in only 3 days that were donated to Giveth’s Galactic Giving Quadratic Funding round.
Popup Cities: ZuVillage Georgia & Chiang Mai Archipelago
The popup city community ran 2 successful local experiments. One at ZuVillage Georgia which was used to raise funds for community initiatives such as Food & Vet for a rescued kitty, Parties, Community Dinners and Hackathon Prizes! Read more about it here.
During the Popup City Archipelago in Chiang Mai, a catastrophic flood stroke the local community. LottoPGF was leveraged to raise around $1.5k in 1 week for the Flood Relief Fund.
Onchain Lotería: First independent deployment
Onchain Lotería is the first independently deployed lottery using the LottoPGF protocol. The Criptoconexion team permissionlessly deployed their own lottery on the LottoPGF protocol where raised funds are directed to different education communities, especially from Latinamerica.
Blockful: Money Lego for public goods funding
Blockful is partnering with LottoPGF to provide a native lottery integration within their new reputation system for Public Goods Funding and Governance. The system will combine the best in resource allocation with LottoPGF’s capital formation mechanism, blending it all together with novel reputation methods.
Student Loan Debt Relief Lottery
LottoPGF is collaborating with a registered non-profit in the US to deploy a lottery that will raise funds to pay off student loan debt. This lottery will be compliant with US regulations in as many states as possible, and will integrate ways for non-crypto native to participate with UX improvements.
